What comes up in the exam
Every past paper for ENGR5002 and the module it replaced, broken down by topic. "Typical marks" is the share of a paper each topic has carried on average, scaled to a 100-mark paper. Use it to spend your time where the marks are.

Cells show marks out of each paper's total. Columns in bold are current-spec papers. Click a year to open the paper.
Old-spec fluids sections (ENGR217 Section A/B and the joint ENGR217/266 papers, 2017-2025) map almost entirely onto weeks 1-4 (statics, pipe flow, Bernoulli, momentum); only 2024 touches pumps and lift, and only the current-spec ENGR271 2026 paper tests mass transfer. No paper tests rheology, convective mass transfer or CFD (CFD is coursework only). The ENGR266 papers of 2018, 2019, 2024 and 2025 carry a fluids section word-for-word identical to the ENGR217 paper of the same year, and ENGR217 2023 Section A is identical to the joint ENGR217/266 2023 paper, so each is listed once to avoid double counting. 2017-2019 papers were "answer two of three" (75 marks listed per fluids section). Old data sheets use the Fanning friction factor (H_L = 4fL u^2/2gD); the current module uses Darcy f. "Specific gravity" = RD.
