Legal and terms of use
Plain-English terms for this site. Last updated 6 October 2026.
1. Who runs this site
Revisica is an independent revision site run by a student for personal study and for sharing study notes with classmates. It is not owned, operated, affiliated with, endorsed or approved by Lancaster University or any of its departments or staff. Module codes, module titles and lecturer names appear only to identify which course a resource relates to.
2. Copyright in lecture material
Lecture slides, exercise sheets, formula sheets, handbooks and past examination papers remain the copyright of Lancaster University and their individual authors. They are made available here only to students registered on the corresponding modules, who already have access to the same material through Moodle, for private study and non-commercial educational use. No ownership is claimed over them.
You must not download, copy, redistribute, sell or publish any university material obtained from this site, or share your sign-in with anyone who is not entitled to the material. Any use beyond private study must be cleared with the copyright holder.
3. Takedown requests
If you hold the rights to any material on this site and would like it removed, or want to raise any other concern, send a short note using the Contact me box at the bottom of any page identifying the file and the basis of your request. Material identified in a good-faith request will be taken down promptly, normally within two working days, while the request is considered.
4. Study packs, questions and solutions
The study packs, glossary, generated practice questions and worked solutions are original student-written material. They are offered in good faith but without any warranty of accuracy or completeness. They are not official course material, have not been checked by any lecturer, and may contain errors. Every solution carries a confidence rating; treat anything marked MEDIUM or LOW with particular care. Always defer to the official slides, the lecturer and the published mark schemes. Generated questions are labelled as such and are not past examination questions. Nothing here is advice on what will appear in any examination.
5. Forum and community rules
Forum posts are shown to other students without your name. Signing in is required to post or vote, so the site owner can see who wrote a post and will use that only to deal with abuse. Do not post anything illegal, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or sexual; personal information about anyone; answers to assessed coursework; or copyrighted material beyond short quotes. Posts that break these rules, or that are reported and found to be a problem, are hidden, and repeated or serious breaches lead to the account being blocked. Report a post with the Report button on the forum page or the Contact me box. Posts are the views of their authors, not of this site.
6. Academic integrity
This site is a revision aid. It must not be used to breach the university's rules on academic misconduct, for example by sharing assessed coursework or collaborating where individual work is required. You are responsible for following your own module's rules.
7. Accounts and your data
Signing in uses an email link; no password is stored. The site records which questions you mark as done or hard and any notes you write, so that you can see them again. It also records anonymous usage events (page path, event type, a random per-tab session id and a screen-size bucket, plus your account id when signed in) to see which parts of the site are used. No advertising, tracking across other sites or sale of data takes place. Data is held with the hosting providers (Vercel and Supabase) and can be deleted on request through the contact route in section 3.
8. No liability
The site is provided free of charge and "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator accepts no liability for any loss arising from use of the site, from errors in its content, or from its unavailability. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the date at the top shows the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
