What comes up in the exam
Every past paper for ENGR5003 and the module it replaced, broken down by topic. "Typical marks" is the share of a paper each topic has carried on average, scaled to a 100-mark paper. Use it to spend your time where the marks are.

Cells show marks out of each paper's total. Columns in bold are current-spec papers. Click a year to open the paper.
The module-folder papers (2021-2025) are the old ENGR217 Thermodynamics papers and map almost one-to-one onto the current weeks 1-5 (Otto/Diesel engines, Brayton/gas turbines, tank charging and discharging); the old ENGR266 chemical thermodynamics papers map onto the week 6 chemical thermodynamics content but lean on generalised correlations (Pitzer, Lee-Kessler), Margules/excess Gibbs energy, fugacity and refrigeration cycles, none of which appear in the current slides or formula sheets, so those parts are CHECK or PARTIAL. Duplicates skipped: the old-folder copies of ENGR217 2021, 2022 Part B, 2023 Section B and 2025 Section B are identical to the module-folder papers, and the 2024/2025 copies in Second Year Past Exam Papers-20261003 are identical to the Pre-Spec Change copies. No past paper examines heat transfer except the ENGR272 week 6 mock.
